62-Unleashed Leadership Part 3 Level 3

Episode Summary

Hello and welcome back to the Unleashed Podcast, I am your host, Kristina Sjolund. This is our part three of our leadership series, unleashing your leadership. So the last few weeks, we have been talking about the different levels of leadership. And there are five levels of leadership, they go in this order, positional leadership, which is the very entry level of leadership, level two is permissional leadership. that's where you're building relationships, and people follow you because they want to. The level three of leadership is production, which is based on results, people follow you because of what you've done for the team or the organization. Let's dive into level 3...

Episode Notes

•  When I say level, I mean ranks, because most of you already know that I am in network marketing, and my team is very, very large, and some of them I don't even get to know, which is depressing for me because I love being able to build those relationships, I love being able to work with those people. So, that's the way I think that level three is so fun, and it's really the most, I guess the most gratifying, if you will, because of those relationships, because of the excitement, because of the momentum, and when you see people growing. And oh my gosh, it really is the best when you see people coming out of their shells and coming into their potential. (3:55)

•    If you truly want to go to the higher levels of leadership, you're going to have to learn those skills there, and really, to be frank, you simply have to produce. There's no other way around it. You have to learn these skills, so now you've got credibility, you're in a position now that you've actually set a standard for others on your team, and you bring clarity, you've gotta bring clarity and a reality to the vision of your organization. You have to have a vision for it, you gotta tell them clearly what the goal is of your team as a whole. (8:58)

•   Put the time and effort into the momentum makers because they can make a huge impact on your organization. Now, these are the momentum makers remember? Okay, so get them out in front. Let them be heard. And this is going to piss some people off because, the people say it all the time, Oh, will you give attention to those people? We have to hear those people. Yeah, because these people have created success at various levels, and we want to make sure that everybody sees different levels of success, and that lets other people know what their potential can be.  (15:41)

•   So even though the achievement becomes easier, the leadership itself does not become easier, right? Now, this is something that is really important to remember, because productivity can make you think that you're a great leader, when really you might not be. All great leaders are productive, however, your personal success... What I mean by personal success, your own success is your own achievements don't always translate to team success, so what do you do for others? That is what the leadership is about.  (19:59)

•   And remember this, it also includes you, you are part of that team, you are the leader of that team, so know where you fit, know where your strengths, your abilities, your gifts, find out where they can contribute to all of the others. But also learn from the others and where they can contribute as well, because they're going to be able to, when they're building that camaraderie with themselves are going to be able to build that familiarity, they're going to be able to build that team atmosphere and those friendships. (23:30)
